The projected lines of contact of the tapered rollers intersect the projected raceways of the inner and outer ring at a point on the bearing axis. As a result of this geometrical characteristic, tapered roller bearings are highly suitable for supporting combined loads. This also prevents any kinematic forced slippage at the rolling contact.
