KOYO Single-row tapered roller bearing Inch series, KOYO Bearing 6382/20, This bearing is designed so that the apex of the tapered face on the raceway face of the cone cup intersects with a single point on the bearing center line. Suitable for applications with heavy load and impact load.

KOYO Single-row tapered roller bearing Inch series, KOYO Bearing 6382/20,A single row tapered roller bearing capable of taking radial loading as well as thrust loading in both axial directions has a cone provided with an integral thrust rib at the small diameter end of its raceway, a cup surrounding the cone, tapered rollers between the raceways of the cup and cone, a separate rib ring at the large diameter end of the cup raceway, and a cage for maintaining correct spacing between the rollers in the circumferential direction. The cage at one end has an outwardly directed lip which is too large to fit through the rib ring and at its other end has outwardly directed tabs which are too large to fit through the cup without deflecting. In effect, the cup and rib ring are captured between the lip and tabs on the cage, and since the rib ring and cup cannot separate, the rollers and cone remain in place, providing a bearing which is unitized sufficiently for normal handling.

KOYO Single-row tapered roller bearing Inch series, KOYO Bearing 6382/20,Aimed at deficiencies of traditional single row tapered roller bearing,a new structure is designed. The small rib of inner ring is can-celled,and the structure of cage is changed. The self locking between cage and inner ring is realized,and the unity of inner assembly consisting of inner,roller and cage is ensured. The processing method is discussed for new type tapered roller bearing. The new type tapered roller bearing is characterized with simple structure,convenient production and assembly. The length of roller is increased and the load carrying capacity of bearing is improved under unchanged installation dimensions.

Fatigue life testing of large tapered roller bearings for railroad applications is both expensive and time consuming. Accepted methods for testing bearings include full–size and scaled down testing. Currently, bearing test methods at Brenco take up to six months to complete, and scaled down testing requires additional resources for manufacturing prototypes and testing capabilities that are not economically ideal. The purpose of this project is the development of a tapered roller bearing test rig to test bearings to their fatigue life as quickly as possible. The rig design can accommodate bearing sizes in the range of one half (½) to a maximum of four (4) Class K, 6 ½ x 9 inch double row tapered roller bearings in line with an axial load. This Senior Design team developed an accelerated life test rig capable of testing up to four (4) full size bearings, which will cut the current analysis time in half. The development of this rig will allow Brenco to perform more efficient and effective testing of bearing life, which in turn will enhance research methods for determining better quality materials and suppliers.
