Product description of KOYO Bearing J-1616

KOYO Drawn cup needle roller bearings Inch series, caged, KOYO Bearing J-1616, Needle roller bearings have a small cross-sectional height therefore contribute to keeping the overall machine lightweight and compact. As such, they are used across a broad scope, including cars, motorcycles, electric machinery, machine tools, aerospace devices, office equipment and other industrial machinery.

KOYO drawn cup needle roller bearings have a deep drawn, thin-walled outer ring. Drawn cup needle roller bearings are typically used in applications where the housing bore cannot be used as a raceway for a needle roller and cage assembly, but where a very compact and economical bearing arrangement is required. These bearings are mounted with a tight interference fit in the housing. That enables a simple and economic design of the housing bore, as shoulders or snap rings are not required to locate the bearing axially.

KOYO Drawn cup needle roller bearings Inch series, caged, KOYO Bearing J-1616, The drawn cup of hardened steel and the needle roller and cage assembly of these bear¬ings form a non¬-separable unit.

KOYO Drawn cup needle roller bearings Inch series, caged, KOYO Bearing J-1616, KOYO drawn cup needle roller bear¬ings:
are supplied without an inner ring
are generally designed with one needle roller and cage assembly – except wide sizes, which incorporate¬ate two needle roller and cage assemblies immediately adjacent to each other, with a lubrication hole in the outer ring.

Sealed bearings
For applications where a sufficiently effective seal is not available, or cannot be used for space reasons, KOYO supplies certain drawn cup needle roller bearings as sealed bearings. The assortment includes:
drawn cup needle roller bearings with open ends (available for 8 ≤ Fw ≤ 50 mm)
sealed on one side (designation suffix RS, fig. 8)
sealed on both sides (designation suffix .2RS, fig. 9)
sealed drawn cup needle roller bearings with a closed end (available for 10 ≤ Fw ≤ 25 mm) (designation suffix RS, fig. 10)
These integral contact seals are made of PUR, FKM or NBR. Sealed drawn cup needle roller bearings are, under normal conditions and with appropriate counter-face, an extremely cost-effective solution to exclude solid contaminants and moisture, and retain the lubricant in the bearing.
When capped bearings must operate under certain conditions, such as very high speeds or high temperatures, some grease may leak. For bearing arrangements where this would be detrimental, appropriate actions could be taken.
SKF supplies needle roller bearings with different features to facilitate effective lubrication and re-lubrication.
All double row drawn cup needle roller bearings have one lubrication hole in the outer ring (fig. 4), as standard.
On request, KOYO can supply any single row drawn cup needle roller bearing for inside diameters under the rollers Fw ≥ 7 mm with a lubrication hole in the outer ring.
